Chike High Protein Iced Coffee is a whey protein powder built around real espresso. Two scoops in cold water gives you 20g of protein, the caffeine of two espresso shots (150mg), 1g of sugar and roughly 110 to 120 calories depending on flavor. It is the coffeehouse drink with the sugar and the fat taken out and the protein put in, which is the part most iced lattes are missing.

Pick your flavor and your size below. The 14-serving bag is the everyday option; single-serve packets are there to try a flavor before you commit, or to throw in a gym bag.

What is actually in a serving

20g whey protein from non-GMO whey protein isolate and whey protein concentrate, with a small amount of sodium caseinate for creaminess
2 shots of espresso, standardized to 150mg caffeine. Chike uses real coffee plus added caffeine so every bag hits the same number. That is roughly what you get in a 12oz drip coffee or a tall cold brew
1g sugar, 0g added sugar. Sweetened with sucralose, so taste it before you buy a bag if you are sensitive to that flavor. Packets exist for exactly this reason
Gluten free, no artificial colors or flavors. Contains milk. Some flavors list soy lecithin, so check the bag if that matters to you
Scalable dose. One scoop is 10g protein and 75mg caffeine. Two is 20g and 150mg. Three is 30g and 225mg

Flavors we carry

Mocha. Cocoa-forward, the most "coffee shop" of the lineup. The crowd favorite
Vanilla. Sweet, creamy, lighter on the coffee. Good if you mostly want the protein
Caramel. Buttery and a little indulgent. Mixes especially well with milk
Sweet Cream. Smooth and very creamy, lightest coffee note of the bunch
Original. Straightforward coffee flavor with a hint of sweetness
Triple Shot Espresso & Cream. The bold one. Three shots of espresso and 225mg caffeine per 2 scoops instead of 150mg, with a leaner ingredient list (no sunflower oil or caseinate). If 150mg does nothing for you, start here

How the protein and caffeine actually work together

Whey isolate and concentrate. Whey is the fastest-digesting complete protein and it is high in leucine, the amino acid that acts as the on-switch for muscle protein synthesis through the mTOR pathway. 20g of whey delivers roughly 2 to 2.5g of leucine, which is right at the threshold most research points to for a full synthesis response in a healthy adult. That makes two scoops a legitimate protein feeding, not a token amount. The isolate fraction is the purer, lower-lactose piece; the concentrate and caseinate add creaminess and a slightly slower-digesting portion.

Caffeine. Caffeine works by blocking adenosine receptors in the brain. Adenosine builds up through the day and signals fatigue; block it and you feel alert, reaction time improves and perceived effort during exercise drops. 150mg is a solid daily-driver dose. It is also worth being honest that it is below the 3 to 6mg per kg range where caffeine shows its strongest performance effect. For a 180lb lifter that range starts around 245mg, which is why the Triple Shot exists and why some people take three scoops before a hard session.

Protein and satiety. This is the mechanism behind the "replaces breakfast" claim. Protein is the most satiating macronutrient per calorie: it raises GLP-1 and PYY, slows gastric emptying and has a higher thermic effect than carbs or fat. Caffeine adds a small, short-lived bump in metabolic rate and mild appetite blunting. Together, 120 calories of protein coffee holds most people over far better than 120 calories of anything else, and dramatically better than a 350-calorie, 35g-sugar coffeehouse mocha that spikes and crashes blood sugar within two hours.

Who this is for

You skip breakfast because you do not have time, and your first real protein arrives at lunch
You are spending $6 to $7 a day at a coffee shop on a drink with zero protein and a day's worth of sugar
You want a lighter pre-workout for morning sessions or cardio days, without a full stimulant pre-workout
You are tracking macros and need 20g of protein for 120 calories that you will actually look forward to drinking

How to use it

Add 2 scoops (about 30g) to 10 fl oz of cold water in a shaker and shake hard for 10 seconds. Pour over ice if you want it to taste like a proper iced coffee. For a creamier, latte-style drink, use milk or half water and half milk, but note that 10oz of whole milk adds about 190 calories and 8g more protein.

Timing. As a breakfast replacement, first thing in the morning. As a pre-workout, 30 to 45 minutes before training so caffeine peaks when you start. As an afternoon pick-me-up, keep it before 2pm. Caffeine has a half-life of about 5 hours, so a 3pm serving still has 75mg working in your system at 8pm and will cost you sleep quality whether you notice it or not.

Can you make it hot? Not well. Whey protein clumps and goes grainy if the powder hits hot liquid directly. If you want a warm version, mix it fully in a few ounces of cold water first, then top with warm (not boiling) water or milk. Chike designed it as an iced drink and it is best that way.

What to watch out for

Do not stack it with a stimulant pre-workout. A standard pre-workout at 300mg plus two scoops of Chike puts you at 450mg in one sitting, over the 400mg per day that the FDA considers the safe ceiling for healthy adults. If you use Chike on training days, use it instead of your pre-workout, not alongside it. Three scoops of Triple Shot is 337mg on its own
Pregnancy. The common guidance is 200mg of caffeine per day. Two scoops of the regular flavors fits under that; three scoops or the Triple Shot does not. Talk to your doctor
Anxiety, high blood pressure, heart rhythm issues or poor sleep. Start with one scoop (75mg) and see how you respond before going to two
Lactose intolerance. Whey isolate is low in lactose, but this product also contains whey concentrate and caseinate. Most mildly intolerant people tolerate a serving fine; if you react to a regular whey blend, you will likely react to this. Milk allergy is a hard no
Medications. Caffeine interacts with some antidepressants, certain antibiotics (fluoroquinolones), thyroid medication timing and stimulant ADHD medications. If you are on any of those, ask your pharmacist

Frequently asked questions

How much caffeine is in Chike protein coffee?
150mg per 2-scoop serving in Mocha, Vanilla, Caramel, Sweet Cream and Original, which is the equivalent of two espresso shots. The Triple Shot Espresso and Cream flavor has 225mg per serving. One scoop of any regular flavor is 75mg.

How much protein is in Chike High Protein Iced Coffee?
20g of whey protein per 2 scoops, from a blend of whey protein isolate and whey protein concentrate. One scoop is 10g and three scoops is 30g.

Can I use Chike as a pre-workout?
Yes, for moderate sessions. 150mg of caffeine plus 20g of whey 30 to 45 minutes before training works well for morning lifts and cardio. For a heavier stimulant effect use three scoops or the Triple Shot, but do not combine Chike with a separate caffeinated pre-workout or you will exceed 400mg in one sitting.

Is Chike protein coffee good for weight loss?
It can help as a swap. At 110 to 120 calories and 1g of sugar it replaces a 300 to 400 calorie coffeehouse drink, and 20g of protein is far more filling than the same calories from sugar. It is not a fat burner on its own; the benefit comes from the calories you are no longer drinking.

Can I make Chike hot?
Not by adding powder to hot water, which makes whey clump. Mix it fully in a few ounces of cold water first, then top up with warm, not boiling, water or milk. It is designed to be served cold.

Does Chike have sugar or artificial sweeteners?
1g of naturally occurring sugar and 0g added sugar. It is sweetened with sucralose. There are no artificial colors or flavors.

Is Chike gluten free and lactose free?
It is gluten free. It is not lactose free: it contains whey isolate (very low lactose), whey concentrate and sodium caseinate. Most people with mild lactose intolerance tolerate it, but it is not suitable for a milk allergy.

How many servings are in a bag?
14 two-scoop servings per bag. The single-serve packet is one 2-scoop serving.

Which Chike flavor is best?
Mocha is the best seller and tastes most like a coffee shop drink. Vanilla and Sweet Cream are lighter on coffee flavor. Triple Shot Espresso and Cream is for people who want a bold espresso taste and more caffeine. Single packets are the cheapest way to find out.

Can I buy Chike protein coffee near Philadelphia?
Yes. Coalition Nutrition stocks Chike High Protein Iced Coffee in store at 2026 E Old Lincoln Hwy, Langhorne, PA, in Bucks County, and ships it anywhere in the US. Orders over $89 ship free.
