Description
Fresh Supps Pre-Workout
6 grams of pure L-citrulline, 3.2g of beta-alanine, a clinical dose of betaine, and 360mg of caffeine from two sources. Fully disclosed, and — unusually at this stimulant level — nothing exotic in it.
The differentiator: 360mg of caffeine and nothing else stimulant
This is the most useful thing about Fresh Pre and it is easy to miss.
Most pre-workouts at this caffeine level lean on additional stimulants to get there — eria jarensis, DMHA, dendrobium, synephrine, yohimbine. Those are what create the "is this for me?" problem, and they are why so many strong pre-workouts carry tested-athlete warnings and cardiovascular cautions.
Fresh Pre contains none of them. The energy comes from caffeine, and the rest of the formula is performance ingredients at researched doses.
That makes it what we would call a clean high-stim — strong, but predictable. If you know how you respond to caffeine, you know how you will respond to this. That is not true of a formula stacking four different stimulant mechanisms.
Two caffeine sources, and a genuinely different approach
300mg caffeine anhydrous + 100mg VitaShure at 60% yield = 60mg, giving 360mg total.
Note the arithmetic there — it is a good example of reading a label properly. VitaShure is 60% caffeine by weight, so 100mg of the ingredient delivers 60mg of actual caffeine. Fresh disclose both figures, which is the right way to do it.
What makes VitaShure interesting is the mechanism. It is microencapsulated caffeine — the caffeine is physically coated, so it dissolves gradually rather than all at once. That produces a lower, later blood concentration peak and a more gradual decline.
That is a different approach from di-caffeine malate, which several other pre-workouts use — that is caffeine bonded to malic acid as a salt, altering how it is processed rather than physically slowing its release. Both aim at the same outcome; the routes are not the same.
The practical effect is on the back end. Anhydrous gives you the front-loaded hit; the encapsulated portion is still releasing as the first wave declines, which softens the drop-off. That is what people mean when they describe this as smooth despite the dose.
360mg is still 360mg. Slower delivery does not reduce the total, and this sits at 90% of the 400mg daily figure the FDA cites for healthy adults.
The performance side is properly dosed
- L-Citrulline, 6,000mg — pure, not malate. That distinction matters: a product listing 6g of citrulline malate delivers only around 4g of actual citrulline. This is the real 6g, squarely in the researched range
- Beta-Alanine, 3,200mg — the exact clinical dose. Expect tingling; that is paraesthesia, harmless, and not an indicator the product is working. Carnosine builds quietly over two to four weeks
- Betaine Anhydrous at a clinical dose — associated with strength and power output, and frequently underdosed or omitted elsewhere
- L-Tyrosine — precursor to dopamine and noradrenaline, researched for cognitive performance under stress
- Taurine — cell volumisation and hydration support
- Electrolytes — sensible in something you drink around training
- AstraGin, 50mg — absorption enhancer
S7 — the honest read
S7 at 50mg is a blend of seven plant extracts that appears to upregulate endothelial nitric oxide synthase, so your body produces more of its own nitric oxide rather than being supplied more raw material. That is a genuinely different mechanism from citrulline, so the two complement rather than duplicate.
The commonly quoted "increases nitric oxide by up to 230%" figure comes from the ingredient manufacturer's own research on a small sample. The mechanism is plausible and the dose matches what was studied — but treat a headline percentage from supplier-funded work with appropriate caution. The 6g of citrulline is the reason this formula produces pumps; S7 is a sensible addition.
Same honest position as our Pump Script and NovaPump Neuro pages.

Two scoops is the full serving, so one scoop is 180mg of caffeine — a perfectly sensible dose for most people and the right place to start.
⚠ Fresh Pre and "Fresh Out" are different products
Fresh Supps also produced Fresh Out, a limited-edition collaboration with Condemned Labz. That one runs higher caffeine and contains synephrine plus HydroPrime glycerol.
If you are choosing Fresh Pre specifically because it avoids exotic stimulants, check which tub you are picking up — Fresh Out does not share that quality.
Where it sits in our range
| RULE | 485mg | Eria jarensis, synephrine |
| DEFY | 450mg | Six stimulants. 10g citrulline |
| Fresh Pre | 360mg (180mg one scoop) | Caffeine only. No exotic stimulants |
| MVPre 3.0 | 350mg | 10g citrulline, no yohimbine |
| CBUM Thavage | 305mg | Best all-round daily driver |
Fresh Pre and MVPre 3.0 are the two we would point most people toward at this stimulant level — both are strong without the exotic stimulant load, and both are fully disclosed. MVPre gives more citrulline at 10g; Fresh Pre gives the smoother caffeine curve.
How to take it
- Start with one scoop (180mg caffeine) in 8 to 10oz of water, 20 to 30 minutes before training.
- Two scoops for the full serving once you know how you respond.
- Count your coffee. 360mg is 90% of the 400mg daily figure.
- Not in the evening. The sustained-release portion extends the tail, which is an advantage during training and a problem at bedtime — 360mg at 4pm still leaves meaningful caffeine at 10pm.
- Take it consistently if the beta-alanine matters — carnosine builds over weeks.
- Take creatine separately. There is none in this formula.
Who this is for
- Anyone who wants a strong pre-workout without exotic stimulants — this is the clearest example on our shelf
- People who like high caffeine but dislike the crash — the encapsulated portion directly addresses that
- Anyone who wants every key ingredient at a researched dose rather than a long list of trace amounts
- People who found other high-stim products made them anxious. Often that is the non-caffeine stimulants, not the caffeine
- Anyone who wants scoop flexibility — 180mg or 360mg from one tub
Who this is not for
Beginners at a full serving. Start at one scoop.
Anyone caffeine sensitive, training in the evening, or with a cardiovascular condition.
Tested athletes should check the current label, since no banned-substance certification is listed — though the absence of exotic stimulants makes it a considerably safer starting point than most products at this level.
If pumps are your priority, MVPre 3.0 and DEFY both carry 10g of citrulline.
If you dislike the beta-alanine tingle, 3.2g is a full dose and you will feel it.
Not for anyone under 18, pregnant or nursing.
Stack it with: creatine. Nothing else stimulant-based.
Frequently asked questions
How much caffeine is in Fresh Pre?
360mg in a full two-scoop serving — 300mg caffeine anhydrous plus 100mg of VitaShure at 60% yield, which contributes 60mg. One scoop is 180mg.
What is VitaShure?
Microencapsulated caffeine. The caffeine is physically coated so it dissolves gradually, producing a lower, later peak and a more gradual decline than anhydrous alone.
How is that different from di-caffeine malate?
Di-caffeine malate is caffeine bonded to malic acid as a salt, which changes how it is processed. VitaShure physically slows release through encapsulation. Same goal, different route.
Does it contain any exotic stimulants?
No — no eria jarensis, DMHA, dendrobium, synephrine or yohimbine. The energy comes from caffeine alone, which is unusual at this dose.
Is the citrulline pure or malate?
Pure L-citrulline at 6,000mg. A product listing 6g of citrulline malate would deliver only around 4g of actual citrulline.
Is Fresh Out the same product?
No. Fresh Out is a Condemned Labz collaboration with higher caffeine and added synephrine — it does not share Fresh Pre's clean stimulant profile.
Why does it make me tingle?
3.2g of beta-alanine. The sensation is paraesthesia — harmless, fading within about half an hour, and not a sign the product is working.
Does it contain creatine?
No. Take creatine separately and daily, including rest days.
