Description
Performax Labs HyperMax'd Out
Performax Labs' most extreme pre-workout: roughly 473mg of caffeine, 8g of pure L-citrulline, and a 24-gram formula built around more than ten branded ingredients.
This is the strongest product we stock. Before anything else, you need to know what is in it.
⚠ Five neuroactive mechanisms, not one
Most strong pre-workouts are caffeine plus one or two additions. This is not that.
| Caffeine | ~473mg | 400mg anhydrous + 100mg Infinergy di-caffeine malate |
| YoMax | 15mg | Two forms of yohimbine |
| ThinFen + NeuroPEA | 800mg | Two phenylethylamine compounds |
| KannaEase | 100mg | Sceletium tortuosum — see warning below |
| RhodioPrime | 200mg | Rhodiola rosea, an adaptogen |
~473mg of caffeine alone exceeds the 400mg the FDA cites as a daily maximum for healthy adults. Everything above is on top of that.
⚠ If you take an antidepressant, do not take this without speaking to your doctor
This is the most important thing on this page and it appears nowhere else.
KannaEase is standardised Sceletium tortuosum — kanna, a South African plant. Its principal alkaloid, mesembrine, acts as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor. That is the same mechanism class as an SSRI antidepressant.
Combining serotonergic compounds can cause serotonin syndrome — a potentially serious condition involving agitation, rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, tremor and confusion.
If you take an SSRI, SNRI, MAOI, tramadol, triptans for migraine, or any psychiatric medication, do not take this product without medical advice. The phenylethylamine compounds add further to that picture, since PEA is itself a monoamine.
This is not a theoretical caution. It is the single clearest reason someone should not buy this product without checking first.
⚠ 15mg of yohimbine is a large amount
YoMax is a blend of two yohimbine forms totalling 15mg. For context, typical doses are 2.5 to 5mg of yohimbine HCl, or 1.5 to 3mg of the more potent alpha yohimbine.
Yohimbine is an alpha-2 adrenergic antagonist. In a meaningful share of users it produces anxiety, elevated heart rate, elevated blood pressure, nausea and sweating that has nothing to do with training quality.
Not for tested athletes. Not for anyone with a cardiovascular condition, high blood pressure, arrhythmia or an anxiety disorder.
Yohimbine is the ingredient people react to here — not the caffeine. If you have not taken it before, this is emphatically the wrong product to start with.
Start with half a scoop. We mean it.
Performax's own instruction is to assess tolerance with a single scoop before considering more, and some listings specify a maximum of one scoop in 24 hours while others allow two.
Use the more conservative figure, and start below even that. Half a scoop still delivers around 235mg of caffeine, 4g of citrulline and half the yohimbine — which is a full-strength experience by most standards.
- No other caffeine on a HyperMax'd Out day. None
- Morning only. Not afternoon, not evening
- Not every session. Tolerance builds fast and there is nothing above this
Credit where it is due: the pump side is genuinely excellent
A common failing in extreme pre-workouts is that the performance ingredients are an afterthought. That is not the case here.
- L-Citrulline, 8,000mg — pure, not malate. At the top of the 6 to 8g researched range. Matching this with citrulline malate would require around 16g
- Beta-Alanine, 3,200mg — the exact researched dose. Expect tingling: harmless paraesthesia, and not a sign the product is working
- GlycerSize, 2,000mg — glycerol for cell volumisation. At 65% yield that is roughly 1.3g of actual glycerol
- HesperiPump, 150mg — glucosyl hesperidin, a citrus flavonoid studied for blood flow. From Pinnacle Ingredients, who also make GlycerPump
- Pinorox, 100mg — pine bark extract, studied in relation to endothelial function
- Pink Himalayan Salt, 200mg — electrolytes for fluid balance and contraction
That is a better-constructed pump side than most dedicated pump products. If the stimulant load were not what it is, this would be an easy recommendation.
The focus stack
- L-Tyrosine, 2,000mg — a genuinely large dose. Precursor to dopamine and noradrenaline, researched for cognitive performance under stress and sleep deprivation
- VitaCholine, 1,000mg — a branded choline source, better specified than generic choline bitartrate
- RhodioPrime, 200mg — standardised rhodiola, an adaptogen studied for fatigue resistance
- Huperzia serrata, 10mg — note this is the extract weight; at a typical 1% standardisation that yields around 100mcg of huperzine A
- BioPerine, 10mg — black pepper extract, which enhances absorption of everything else including the stimulants

Frequently asked questions
How much caffeine is in HyperMax'd Out?
Around 473mg — 400mg from caffeine anhydrous plus 100mg of di-caffeine malate, which is roughly 75% caffeine by weight. That exceeds the 400mg daily figure the FDA cites for healthy adults.
Can I take it with antidepressants?
Not without medical advice. KannaEase contains mesembrine, a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, and combining serotonergic compounds carries a risk of serotonin syndrome. The PEA compounds add to that picture.
How much yohimbine is in it?
15mg across two forms. Typical doses are 2.5 to 5mg of yohimbine HCl or 1.5 to 3mg of alpha yohimbine, so this is a large amount — and it is the ingredient most people react to.
How much should I take?
Start with half a scoop, which is still roughly 235mg of caffeine and half the yohimbine. Listings disagree on the maximum — some say one scoop in 24 hours, others two. Use the more conservative figure.
Is the pump side any good?
Genuinely excellent — 8g of pure citrulline, 3.2g beta-alanine and 2g of GlycerSize is better constructed than most dedicated pump products.
Can I take it if I am drug tested?
No.
Is there a similar product without the stimulants?
MVPre 3.0 delivers 10g of citrulline at 350mg of caffeine with no yohimbine, which is what we would suggest to most people asking about this.
Why is it hard to find?
It was released as a limited edition rather than a continuous line.
