This is a complex creatine product, and there is one thing about the ATP angle that deserves a straight explanation.
Why swallowing ATP does not do what you would assume
The intuitive idea is that if ATP is your cells' energy currency, taking ATP gives your cells more energy. That is not how it works, and we would rather say so.
ATP taken orally does not survive intact into your cells. It is broken down in digestion like any other nucleotide, and it does not cross cell membranes to top up intracellular stores.
So what does the research on oral ATP actually show? The proposed mechanism is extracellular — ATP and its breakdown products acting as signalling molecules outside the cell, associated with increased blood flow and oxygen delivery to working muscle. That is a real proposed pathway, and it is a completely different mechanism from "more cellular energy."
It is also considerably more modest. We would rather you understood the actual claim than bought on a misunderstanding.
The creatine is the part that definitely works
Everything else here is an addition around a well-established core: 5 grams of creatine monohydrate.
Creatine genuinely does raise phosphocreatine stores, and phosphocreatine genuinely does regenerate ATP from ADP during hard efforts. That mechanism is settled, and it is explained in full on our Creapure page.
InnovaPharm's version is MAXed Creatine — creatine monohydrate combined with MAX Catalyst black pepper extract, with a claimed bioavailability improvement of just over 50%. Black pepper extract as an absorption enhancer is well established generally; treat the specific percentage as a manufacturer figure rather than an independent one.
The supporting ingredients, assessed honestly
- D-Ribose, 3g — a sugar that forms part of the ATP molecule's structure, so the logic is sound. The research is strongest in cardiac and mitochondrial conditions where ATP regeneration is genuinely impaired. In healthy trained people, the evidence for performance benefit is considerably weaker
- ElevATP, 150mg — a patented blend of ancient peat and apple extract, studied in relation to endogenous ATP levels. Small but real body of research
- Taurine, 1g — involved in cell volumisation and muscle function, and a common and sensible inclusion
- Magnesium, 200mg as di-magnesium malate (TRAACS) — magnesium is genuinely required for ATP to be biologically active; ATP functions as a magnesium complex. This is a well-chosen inclusion at a real dose
- Sodium, 60mg from pink Himalayan salt — electrolyte support
The magnesium is the quiet standout. ATP is functionally inactive without magnesium bound to it, so if you are short on magnesium — which many people training hard are — that is a genuine bottleneck the rest of the formula cannot work around.
An honest note on HEMO-Growth
The formula includes 100mcg of HEMO-Growth, described as a blend of fibroblast growth factors and activin.
Growth factors are proteins. Proteins taken orally are digested into amino acids in the stomach and small intestine — that is what digestion does. Whether an orally administered growth factor survives to act as a growth factor is a substantial question, and 100mcg is a very small amount.
This is an obscure ingredient with very little published research behind it. We are not saying it does nothing; we are saying the evidence is not there to say it does something, and you should not buy this product for that ingredient.
