Description
Black Market CUTS Pump
A stimulant-free liquid glycerol shot — 20g of glycerol with arginine AKG, pink Himalayan salt and L-carnitine. Stackable with any pre-workout.
The glycerol is the reason to buy this. We will be straight with you about the rest.
20g of glycerol is a serious dose
Glycerol is an osmolyte — it draws water into cells and holds it there, producing muscle fullness. It relocates fluid rather than creating it, which is why hydration determines whether it works at all.
The research on glycerol hyper-hydration uses doses around 20g and above, which is exactly where this sits. That is a meaningfully different proposition from powdered pump products.
Powdered glycerol — GlycerPump, HydroMax — is glycerol bound to a carrier so it can exist as a stable powder, typically at 65% yield. So a pre-workout listing 4g of GlycerPump delivers around 2.6g of actual glycerol. A liquid needs no carrier, so 20g listed is 20g active.
| Powdered pre-workout | 2–4g GlycerPump at 65% | ≈1.3–2.6g glycerol |
| CUTS Pump | 20g liquid at 100% | 20g glycerol |
⚠ Drink plenty of water with it
This is not optional and it is the difference between the product working and not working.
Glycerol with insufficient fluid has nothing to move, and concentrated glycerol on a relatively empty stomach can cause nausea and digestive discomfort. Be well hydrated before you take it, and keep drinking through your session.
Some people simply do not get on with high-dose glycerol. If that is you, it is worth finding out with one serving rather than persevering.
The honest read on the "Cuts" side
The name and the marketing position this as a pump product with fat loss attached. The fat loss ingredient is L-carnitine, and the evidence there is genuinely weak in people who are not deficient.
Carnitine's role is real: it transports fatty acids into mitochondria to be burned. But most people are not short of carnitine, so supplying more does not increase the rate at which fat is oxidised. Supplementing something that is not the bottleneck does not remove the bottleneck.
There is a second issue. Muscle carnitine uptake is insulin-dependent — carnitine taken without a meaningful carbohydrate load largely is not taken up by muscle at all. Taken as a stim-free pre-workout shot, typically in a fasted or low-carb state, the conditions are close to the opposite of what uptake requires. We explain this in full on our L-Carnitine page.
And there is a mild irony worth noting: glycerol works by pulling water into muscle cells. If you are lean and watching your appearance, deliberately increasing intracellular water is a fullness strategy, not a leanness one. That is fine — it looks good in the gym — but it is the opposite of what "cuts" implies.
Buy this for the pump. Fat loss comes from a sustained caloric deficit, and we will tell you that at the counter.
Arginine AKG — a fair inclusion with a caveat
1 gram of arginine alpha-ketoglutarate is included for nitric oxide support.
Arginine is the direct substrate for nitric oxide synthase, so the logic is sound. But arginine taken orally has poor bioavailability — much of it is degraded in the gut and liver by the enzyme arginase before it reaches circulation.
That is precisely why most modern pump products use citrulline instead: citrulline survives digestion, bypasses arginase, and converts to arginine in the kidneys, raising arginine levels more effectively than arginine itself does.
1g of arginine AKG is a modest addition rather than a headline ingredient. If nitric oxide is your priority, GHOST Pump at 6g citrulline plus 3g arginine nitrate is the stronger option — and being stim-free, it stacks with this.
The salt is doing real work
500mg of pink Himalayan salt is not decoration. Sodium is the primary extracellular electrolyte governing fluid balance, and it helps maintain the osmotic gradient that keeps water where glycerol has drawn it.
Glycerol pulls fluid in; sodium helps it stay. A small, cheap ingredient supporting the main one properly.

CUTS Pump or Pump Script?
| CUTS Pump | Pump Script | |
| Glycerol | 20g | 23g |
| Nitric oxide | 1g arginine AKG | 50mg S7 (eNOS upregulation) |
| Electrolyte | 500mg pink salt | 125mg sea salt |
| Servings | 60 | 30 |
Both are liquid glycerol products at genuine doses. Pump Script has slightly more glycerol and a more sophisticated nitric oxide ingredient; CUTS Pump has more sodium and twice the servings. Cost per serving is where this is likely decided.
How to take it
- One serving before training, with plenty of water. Follow the bottle for volume.
- Be well hydrated beforehand. The glycerol needs fluid available to move.
- Sip rather than drinking it down if you are prone to stomach discomfort.
- Stacks with any pre-workout — it adds no stimulants.
- One serving per session.
Who this is for
- Anyone who found powdered pump products underwhelming — the glycerol dose is usually why
- People training late who cannot take stimulants
- Anyone stacking with a pre-workout they already like
- Bodybuilders wanting muscle fullness specifically
- People training in heat or sweating heavily, where hyper-hydration has practical value
- Anyone wanting a liquid rather than another powder to mix
Who this is not for
If you are buying it for fat loss, buy something else — or better, nothing. The carnitine is unlikely to do much, and a sustained caloric deficit is what actually works.
If you want energy, there are no stimulants here.
If nitric oxide is your priority, 1g of arginine AKG is modest. GHOST Pump is the stronger choice and stacks cleanly.
If you will not drink enough water, the glycerol will not work.
Tested athletes should check the current WADA list — glycerol has previously been classified as a prohibited plasma expander and its status has changed over time.
Not for anyone under 18, pregnant or nursing.
Stack it with: a nitric oxide pump product, or your usual pre-workout. Different mechanisms, no overlap.
Frequently asked questions
How does glycerol work?
It is an osmolyte — it draws water into cells and holds it there for muscle fullness. It relocates fluid rather than creating it, so hydration is essential.
Why is 20g so much more than a powdered pre-workout?
Powdered glycerol is around 65% yield, so 4g of GlycerPump delivers roughly 2.6g of actual glycerol. A liquid needs no carrier, so 20g is 20g.
Does the L-carnitine help with fat loss?
Unlikely. Most people are not carnitine-deficient, so supplying more does not increase fat oxidation — and muscle uptake is insulin-dependent, which a stim-free pre-workout shot does not provide.
Why arginine rather than citrulline?
Arginine is the direct nitric oxide substrate but has poor oral bioavailability, since arginase degrades much of it before it reaches circulation. Citrulline bypasses that and raises arginine more effectively.
What is the salt for?
Sodium maintains the osmotic gradient that keeps water where glycerol has drawn it. Glycerol pulls fluid in; sodium helps it stay.
Can I stack it with a pre-workout?
Yes. It is stimulant-free and works on cell volumisation rather than nitric oxide.
Will it upset my stomach?
It can if taken with too little water or too quickly. Start well hydrated and sip.
How does it compare to Pump Script?
Pump Script has 23g glycerol and S7; CUTS Pump has 20g with more sodium and twice the servings. Both are genuine liquid glycerol products.
